Jutta Mata

Jutta Mata received a Master’s in Psychology in 2004 from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. She then became a doctoral research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin and received her PhD in Psychology in January 2008. Afterwards, Jutta did a postdoctoral fellowship at the Technical University Lisbon, Portugal.

During her post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford Jutta continues her research on health-related decision making and motivational factors underlying (multiple) health behavior change. She also works on gene-environment interactions, looking at the protective role of health behaviors in people with genetic risk for depression.
