Winter 2001 - Current and Past Members

Below is a working list of bios for all those undergraduates and graduates who have labored in Phil's psych lab since its inception. Because the lab changes slightly every quarter, even during the summer quarter, some members are not fully represented here, but most are. So check out what kind of people you'd be working with if you're thinking about joining. Oh, everything that you don't think is funny is a deep inside joke. Trust that it is both raucously funny and profound beyond words. Members can be found listed in the quarter when they first joined the lab.

Winter 2001 - present, Stephanie Denise Lane -
Stephanie is from Dallas and is proud of her Texas heritage. She is interested in colorism, or pigmentocracy (hierarchies of power based on skin ton), and has brought this research topic into the lab. She brings a critical insight into the lab and doesn't like to be interrupted. She is an African and African-American Studies major and plans to combine her abilities in the social sciences and history towards a senior thesis and a graduate degree.

Winter 2001 - present, Hana Rae Shepherd -
Hana joined the lab with an interest in the psychology of social activist movements. She has become the third and most recent member of the lab to hold the position of Lab Administrator. She is involved with SLAC, the Student Labor Activist Coalition. Despite a quiet demeanor, she is very firm in her convictions and a keen player of cards (O.K., we're lying about the cards). But it would be impossible to overstate her dedication to issues of race and social justice. Her sensitivity and passion for deep-cutting analysis makes her a model for lab members and in the world of social justice activists. For questions about the lab, please contact her at: philra@psych.stanford.edu.
