VIDEO PROJECT: “30 MINUTES” This assignment is worth 20% of your grade and should be completed with a partner. In putting together this project, you should think of the show “60 Minutes” (or other similar investigative news programs) as a model. First, choose a topic that you feel is part of the field of psychology that we have not covered in this summer’s course. Investigate using, at the very least three up to date and reliable sources, what modern psychological research has to say on the topic you have chosen, then also find at the very least three sources of media portrayal of this topic. Armed with this information, it is your assignment to create a 30-minute video presentation in the style of an investigative report on your topic, how it is portrayed in the media, the accuracy vs. inaccuracy of such a portrayal, and the implications of what you have found. Choose a topic that you are genuinely interested in. Be as creative (while still being coherent and informative) as you can, and don’t be afraid to bring in a wide variety of outside sources.
