About the Participant Pools

The department maintains two separate participant pools, a Credit Pool and a Paid Pool. Participants in the Credit Pool are students in psychology courses that participate in research studies for class credit. Participants in the Paid Pool may or may not be affiliated with Stanford and participate in research for pay. Researchers affliated with the Psychology Department may use both pools. You must be a faculty member, graduate student, postdoctoral fellow, visiting researcher, visiting scholar, co-terminal students, honors student or visitor that is affiliated with the Psychology Department to have access to the pool.

To Use the Participant Pools

To use the pools you will need to submit an application along with your IRB certificate of approval to hscoordinator@lists.stanford.edu. You must have a current, approved protocol to use the participant pools.

To use the Credit (Psych 1) Pool please submit the application by the deadline each quarter.

The deadline to apply for the Credit Pool is the first Friday of the Quarter at NOON. Late applications cannot be accepted for the credit pool.

To use the Paid Pool please select “yes” to the question about the Paid Pool when you submit your application for the Credit Pool. If you submit your application after the deadline you can be added to the Paid Pool but not the Credit Pool as hours have already been allotted for the quarter.
