PARTICIPANTS
Information about the Paid Participant Pool
There are many different kinds of research studies being conducted in our department, on such topics as aggression, social behavior, competitiveness, dreaming, color perception, spatial relations, learning and memory. Researchers rely on participants to keep this research going. To connect with participants researchers often use our paid participant pool.
Participants in the paid pool are volunteers who join the pool to participate for payment. Researchers pay between $10 and $25 an hour depending on the study and studies usually take between 30 minutes to an hour.
You do not have to be affiliated with Stanford University to participate in the paid pool. Participants can sign up for the studies they want to participate in and their information remains confidential at all times. To sign up for the paid pool go to http://stanfordpsychpaid.sona-systems.com/ and click “Request an account here.” You will be asked to provide some information about yourself and you will be emailed your log in information. The first time you log in you will be asked to fill out a 2 minute demographic survey. Researchers use this information to select participants for their studies. If you have questions about the paid pool please contact the Human Subjects Coordinator at hscoordinator@lists.stanford.edu.
